Data sources

Where the outlook comes from.

Seyva organises third-party data into one view. The source services remain authoritative for their own information.

Weather and marine conditions

Forecast weather and available marine temperature data are supplied by WeatherAPI. Its API terms permit commercial display within an application, but the data cannot be resold as a standalone service.

Tides

Tide data by TideCheck. TideCheck permits API subscribers to display predictions in commercial public-facing products, requires visible attribution beside the data, limits caching to 24 hours, and prohibits navigation or other life-critical use. Tide times and heights are predictions and may differ from observed conditions.

Bathing waters and water quality

Supported bathing-water locations and available quality information come from the Environment Agency. Contains Environment Agency information © Environment Agency and database right, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

Available overflow information is checked from Southern Water. Seyva identifies partial checks clearly when one provider is unavailable; a missing alert is not proof that water is safe.

Location search

UK place search uses Open-Meteo geocoding data.

Updates and limitations

Sources update on different schedules. A successful check does not guarantee that all real-world changes have been reported. Timestamps shown on the Today page indicate when available information was checked.
